International Pooper Scooper Week April 1-7

Hopefully you have planned an event in your community to take advantage of this week in April. If you haven't, it's not too late! All you have to do contact your local parks department or where ever there's a poop problem, and let them know you want to volunteer to pick up the poop. You can do it yourself and your staff, or better, with volunteers in your community, family, friends, church, etc. Then contact your local media and send them a press release. There are samples in the member's section of the apaws web site, just insert your company's information.

Here's the official Chase Calendar of events description for 2016:

The Association of Professional Animal Waste Specialists (aPaws) was founded in February 2002 by a group of professional pooper scoopers who believe that every dog should have its day. In recognition of a growing problem in our communities, aPaws has established a special week (April 1-7) of educating pet owners on the importance of cleaning up after their dogs, not only at home, but in the community. In 2014 it is estimated that country’s 95 million dogs produce about 5.8 billion lbs. of waste per year, enough to cover 900 football fields nearly a foot and a half deep of dog waste. Clean up events are planed all across the country by professional pooper scoopers and volunteer organizations. For information: aPaws, P.O. box 2325, Santa Clarita, CA 91386 or email: info@apaws.org. Growing a business doesn't just happen by itself, you have to make it happen!
